5 Issues In Raids and How to Fix them

January 23, 2009 by Visin · Leave a Comment

Have you ever just been in a group with other people and for some reason things were not clicking and the result of that was keeping you from finishing that instance or raid? Well there are a lot of things that can go wrong in raid groups but I am going to go over 5 of them that I think are very important to keep the raid alive and fully functional.

1. No Strategy Here - Some things you will need to work on with a successful raid group is strategy and nothing you can do will get around it. Strategy has been used for aslong as anyone can ever remember and it will always be used (at least for some). A lot of raid groups will just attack the boss and treat it like it is a tank-and-spank when obviously there is a trick to it, that is why you wiped 4 times now.

2. But I Want That Chest Piece - There will always be the whining about gear if you have an immature raid of people and some people may just leave if you do not know them well. Mages arguing about Warlock gear and Hunters arguing about Rogue gear is always common but there are ways to combat this particular issue.

3. What Did You Say, Run WITH the Flames? - Lack of communication can be a downfall to any raid and since my raid’s are always people I know in real life I have got to the point of just calling them up before a raid. Ventrillo is the standard of voice communication in game these days and most guilds have a Ventrillo server you can use.

4. My Greens Will Work Just Fine - Gear. There is one factual thing in World of Warcraft that you can not get around, and that is gear. You must be properly geared for the raid you are planning to attend and you must make sure that it fits your class as well. Keep in mind for Rogue’s that you need more than just damage because sometimes Hit Rating is just as important.

5. So I’m NOT Suppose to Face Pull? - This last one may come off as a little harsh to some but then again some are just not fit to ever raid in World of Warcraft. Your raiders can not be stupid and they may have to be able to think out side of the box sometimes which some have a hard time grasping. So bring who you see fit but just make sure they are at least capable of following simple commands.

Raiding is a difficult procedure and nothing except time, experience and a few kind words of help and encouragement will ever prepare you for the onslaught of troubles that will be accompanied by the great riches of being able to be in a raid. Just keep your eye on the prize, be smart about your actions and be civilized and those epics will be as good as yours!

Skeleton form skills on last boss of Drak’Tharon?

January 18, 2009 by Visin · Leave a Comment

A Rogue’s life does get kind of interesting you know, we think and we kill, thats about it, but I found something half way useful to most healers or anyone else. This may be already common sense to most but for some it will hopefully help some people out.

Tharon’ja will have more!

When the above is said all players will be turned into skeletons which will have their own sets of skills not normally known to players (at least I hope not). These skills are supposed to be used against the boss to slay him and he is relatively easy enough to take down but for you here is a little tip that may prove useful.

When in skeleton form you are able to open your skillbook (just like normal) and then cast spells like you normally do in World of Warcraft which may help you out some depending on your class or skills. Now this is nothing ground breaking or majorly helpful but it could interest some players and that is what I am here for, to interest the players.

Im… impossible! Tharon’ja is eternal! Tharon’ja… is…

After you have heard those magical words you will soon know that the boss is dead and that you have succeeded in life for just one more day. So go on and pat yourself on the back, you survived on of the easiest instances. If you would like to know anything else just feel free to contact us and we will be able to address anything that you have for us (hopefully).

Move with Shadowmeld

January 17, 2009 by Visin · Leave a Comment

We all know how Shadowmeld works. It is the bad version of a Rogues Stealth that breaks if the player moves, but after this post you will know how to move while getting out of combat with Shadowmeld!

The Rogue has only one way to get out of combat unless you are a Night Elf then you have two ways. The first way of course is Vanish and the second way for Night Elf’s exclusively is Shadowmeld. Have you been in the situation where you knew you would die unless some big muscular man was there to save you? Of course not or that may sound weird, but if you thought you was going to die you would want to get out of combat, so if your Vanish is on cooldown then you can use the Night-Elfs Vanish, Shadowmeld!

/cast Shadowmeld

This macro that I use on Visin comes in handy for those times where I am being a bit too cocky and I have no alternatives than to “/getoutofcombatNOW” if you know what I mean. Anyways, the macro means you will have to be a Night Elf of course and you will have to have the brain of a College Professor in Ethiopia (heh). Now for the easy but yet oh so cool part…

/cast shadowmeld

/stopcasting

/cast stealth

Yeah I know, maybe this isn’t news to anyone but it’s at least useful in a lot of different situations. Meaning that instead of being limited to the basic “OMG! I can not move or I will break my form of Stealth” you can now move around freely and get to a spot that has less monsters so that you can once again save the day, you know, just like the Powerpuff Girls! (lol I am lame)
